The National Training Programme for Community Food Workers

September – December Programme 2006
The development of a National Training Programme for Community Food Workers is one of the objectives of Community Food Enterprise Ltd (CFE).  This is a 28 session programme comprising seven units spread over four months.

Where and when will the units run?
The venue is at Grassroots and is located in Memorial Recreational Grounds, Memorial Avenue, Newham, London E15 3DB.  All units run from 10.00 a.m. – 3.00 p.m.  Crèche facilities are available at the venue. The dates are as follows:

Unit One: Starting and Developing a Community Food Initiative

Tuesday 7 th, 14 th, 21 st November, 2006
Unit Two: Global, National and Local Food and Health Initiatives Dates to be confirmed
Unit Three: Food Poverty, Health and Community Development

Wednesday 18 th, 25 th, October, 1 st, 8 th November 2006

 

Unit Four: Food and Health, Food Choice and Trends

Tuesday 26 th September, 3 rd, 10 th, 17 th October, 2006

Unit Five:  Working in/Managing a Food Social Enterprise Thursday 19 th, 26 th, October, 2 nd, 9 th November 2006
Unit Six: Growing Vegetables and Herbs

Thursday 31 st August, 14 th, 28 th, September, 12 th October 2006

Unit Seven:  Healthy, Tasty and Quick Cooking Wednesday 22 nd, 29 th November, 6 th, 13 th December 2006

Costs

There is NO COST for people who wish to register on units of the programme who are on income support or receiving housing benefits, council tax benefits or working tax credits.

Community / Voluntary Organisations £250.00
Statutory Organisations    £280.00
Private Organisations £310.00

                              

This cost includes: four days of tutoring, learning material, assessment support and accreditation from NOCN on the successful completion of a unit(s).
