The Woodlands Neighbourhood

The Woodlands area has approximately 1,000 households. Much of the housing was built on former industrial land and is made up predominantly of pre and post war housing in blocks and terraced houses.

Some things NDC has done in this area:

• Built a resource centre 'Grassroots' to provide some essential community services - nursery, health services and a healthy eating cafe
• Improving the entrances, pathways and lighting in Memorial Park
• Funded an early learning centre with nursery at Gainsborough School
• Funded a package of improvements for Grange School including a new nursery and reception class, 3 large classrooms, an IT suite, library and a multi-purpose assembly hall
