The North Canning Town/Eastlea Neighbourhood

The Eastlea area has approximately 1,100 households.  It is made up of a combination of social and private housing in both traditional terraces and blocks.

Some things NDC has done in this area:

• Built the first of NDC’s community resource centres, THE hub, to provide some essential community services – nursery, community mental health services, base for the local Safer Neighbourhood Team and cafe
• Transformed Exning Square from an unused badly planned public space into a well designed and well used square
• Funded a performing arts block at Eastlea Community School
• Funded a package of improvements at Star School including a new integrated nursery and improvements to the entrance hall
